Setup
Installation#
Install Cognardo Workbench from the Chrome Web Store when the listing is available, then pin it to your toolbar so the workspace controls are easy to reach.
Before you start#
- Use Chrome on desktop.
- Sign in to the ChatGPT account you plan to use with Workbench.
- Create or sign in to your Workbench account so cloud-backed features can sync correctly.
Install the extension#
1. Open the Workbench install link in Chrome desktop. 2. Add the extension to Chrome. 3. Pin Workbench from the extensions menu. 4. Open ChatGPT and confirm the Workbench sidebar is available.
Onboarding#
The first-run onboarding should help you connect your account and understand what Workbench records, syncs, and stores.
Sign in#
Use the same Workbench account across the website and extension. Your Firebase Auth UID is the shared identity for both surfaces.
Confirm sync settings#
Cloud sync powers account restoration, cross-device access, AI actions, smart suggestions, citation checks, and usage insights.

Troubleshooting setup#
The sidebar does not appear#
Refresh ChatGPT, confirm the extension is enabled, and check that you are using Chrome desktop.
I signed in with the wrong account#
Sign out from the extension and website, then sign in again with the account you want to use for Workbench.
