Glossary#
Product and interface#
- Cognardo Workbench / Workbench: the public product name. Cognardo Workbench is retained only as a legacy search alias.
- Popup: the small browser-extension window opened from the toolbar icon.
- Floater: the movable in-page Workbench button and compact action menu.
- Sidebar: the in-page workspace containing Collect, prompts, pins, scratchpads, Enhance actions, and navigation.
- Main extension page: the full-page interface for libraries, settings, account controls, and reports.
Saved content#
- Prompt: reusable text that can contain variables.
- Sequence: an ordered collection of prompt steps run one at a time.
- Pin: a saved prompt or response that remains connected to its source conversation.
- Scratchpad: reusable notes and captured material. The active scratchpad receives new saves; saved scratchpads remain in the library.
- Instruction Profile: reusable instructions optionally appended when supported content is inserted.
- Imported template: content linked to a library source and eligible for source updates.
- Forked template: an independent copy that you own and edit normally.
Conversations and files#
- Collect: the sidebar view of the live captured conversation.
- Turn: one user prompt paired with its assistant response.
- Version: a preserved rerun or edited form of a turn.
- Hidden conversation: removed from ordinary views but recoverable.
- Deleted conversation: permanently removed after typed confirmation and synchronized as a tombstone; it cannot be restored under the old ID.
- Files index: attachment metadata linked to captured conversations; opening a file uses authenticated retrieval.
Sync states#
- Local: stored in the current browser but not confirmed in the account cloud.
- Pending: queued or waiting for synchronization.
- Synced: the latest acknowledged account version is stored successfully.
- Conflict: local and cloud versions require a supported resolution path.
- Failed: synchronization did not complete; the reason determines whether retry, sign-in, size reduction, or repair is appropriate.
AI actions and reports#
- AI action: an explicit Workbench request that sends the required input to an AI service and can consume credits.
- Notification Center: Workbench's in-product activity surface, not an operating-system notification.
- AI Actions History: the list of supported previous actions and available outputs.
- Citation tracking: automatic link-status tracking, distinct from paid Citation and Hallucination Analysis.
- Report: a read-only result page produced by supported completed actions.
Plans and credits#
- Monthly credits: plan allocation that resets and does not roll over by default.
- Top-up credits: separately purchased credits preserved across the monthly reset.
- Entitlement: an account capability or limit applied by the plan or an account-specific override.
See Plans, limits, and credits and Sync Status and Recovery for the complete contracts.
