Troubleshoot AI Actions and Credits

Troubleshoot AI actions and credits#

First determine whether the action was blocked before request acceptance or failed after provider work began. That boundary controls both the safe retry and credit outcome.

The action is disabled or fails before starting#

Read the message beside the control, then check:

  • A meaningful source is selected or entered.
  • The text is within the action's input limit.
  • A valid target word count or other required option is present.
  • At least one available model is selected when required.
  • You are signed in and have enough credits.
  • Cloud Sync & Intelligence or plan access is enabled when the feature requires it.

For Optimize, choose a specific model. Custom and All Models are not valid optimization targets.

“Model choices changed”#

Cross Compare loads its model catalog from the service. If a cached selection is no longer accepted, Workbench returns MODEL_SELECTION_CHANGED, refreshes the catalog, and asks you to review the choices. It does not silently substitute a model.

The rejected request is stopped before paid work is accepted and costs 0 credits. Review every provider, select currently available models, and run the comparison again.

The action was cancelled, interrupted, or incomplete#

Swipe horizontally, or focus the table and use arrow keys, to see every column.

What happenedCredit guidance
Input or entitlement check failed before acceptanceNo provider work should start; correct the requirement and retry.
Cross Compare rejected stale models with MODEL_SELECTION_CHANGED0 credits.
Cross Compare did not complete every provider or could not save the reportNo completed History report is published; follow the shown credit-release status before retrying repeatedly.
You cancelled after provider work or a result had already completedThe charge may remain because cancellation and completion can race.
The tab closed during an action without recovery supportThe result may not be recoverable even if provider work completed. Check History and credit usage before rerunning.

Do not launch repeated retries while credit release is still being checked. Preserve the visible status and request or error code when contacting support.

A completed result is missing#

Open AI Actions History and the relevant report page. Some actions can recover completed results there while their history entry remains; actions documented as non-recoverable after tab closure cannot. For Compare Across LLMs, a completed history item appears only after all selected providers finish and the full report is saved.
