Account Settings

Account settings

The Account tab of the main extension page is your account's home inside Cognardo Workbench: who you are signed in as, how the account is secured, your email, your plan, and how much of your monthly AI-credit pool the work has used. Everything here shows or links; payment stays on the website. This page covers the tab section by section.

Prerequisites:

Open the Account tab#

  1. Click the pinned Cognardo Workbench icon to open the pop-up.
  2. Click the account icon in the navigation grid. The main extension page opens on the Account tab.

Account also sits in the left navigation of the main extension page, one click from anywhere in the workspace. Your plan and signed-in email stay visible in the pop-up itself for the quick check.

Your identity#

The tab opens on who you are: the email on the account, and how you signed up, with Google or with an email address and password. That distinction runs through the sections below: a Google account leans on Google for its security and keeps its Google address, while an email account manages both here.

Security#

  • Email-and-password accounts: The password is updated from this tab. The requirements match sign-up: at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one numeric digit.
  • Google accounts: There is no password here to manage. The account's security lives with Google, changed in your Google settings, not in the extension.

Email#

The tab shows the account's email address. Changing it is its own flow with one restriction worth knowing up front: email-and-password accounts can change their address, while Google accounts keep the address Google provides. Both sides are covered in change your email.

AI-credit usage#

The tab is where the credit pool becomes visible: how much of the monthly allowance the AI actions have used, and what remains. Credits power the AI side of the product, from Optimize to Citation and hallucination analysis to the scratchpad features, and the pool itself, with how it renews, is canonical in Enhance.

Running low has its path attached: the top-up control links to pricing on the website, where credits are topped up through Paddle checkout. The pool each plan includes is on the pricing page itself.

Plan and upgrades#

Your current plan sits on the tab, with the two actions beside it:

  • Upgrading: The upgrade control links to pricing, where subscribing to PRO or MAX runs through Paddle. The flow is covered in manage your plan.
  • Managing the subscription: The account page on the website, workbench.cognardo.com/account, holds the subscription itself: plan changes, restoring a cancelled plan, and the entry into Paddle's billing portal. See manage your plan.

The plans, and how payment flows end to end, are covered in billing.

Deleting your account#

Deleting the account, and what happens to your data when you do, is covered indelete my data.

FAQ#

Where do I change my password?+

On this tab, for email-and-password accounts, with the same requirements as sign-up. Google accounts have no password in Cognardo Workbench; their security is managed in Google settings.

Where do I see how many credits I have left?+

Here, on the Account tab: the monthly pool's usage and what remains. What credits power, and how the pool renews, is covered in Enhance.

How do I get more credits?+

Two ways: top up from the control on this tab, which lands on pricing, or move to a plan with a larger monthly pool. See manage your plan.

Can I change the email on my account?+

Email-and-password accounts, yes; Google accounts keep their Google address. The flow and the restriction are covered in change your email.

Is any payment handled on this tab?+

No. The tab shows and links. Payment, plan changes, and top-ups all run on the website through Paddle. See billing.
