Account and Billing Interfaces
Account and billing interfaces
Your account lives in two places, and they divide the work cleanly: the extension shows and links, the website transacts. Inside Cognardo Workbench, the Account tab and the pop-up carry your status, your usage, and every upgrade path; on the website, pricing and account pages handle subscribing, plan changes, and payment, processed by Paddle. This page is the reference map of both sides and how they connect. The flows themselves live in the rest of the section.
Prerequisites:
- Signed in to the extension: Account surfaces require a signed-in account. See sign in to the extension.
- Signed in on the website, for billing actions: Subscribing, top-ups, and plan management run on the website for signed-in users, with the same account.
- Know the surfaces: This page assumes the pop-up and the main extension page from the interface.
Every access point at a glance#
| Access point | Opens from | What you reach |
|---|---|---|
| Main extension page, Account tab | The pop-up navigation grid | Your profile, security, email, AI-credit usage, and the upgrade and top-up links. |
| The pop-up | The pinned toolbar icon | Your plan in the header, and the account menu with your signed-in email and Logout. |
| Upgrade links on gated features | PRO and MAX marked controls across the extension | The website's pricing page, with the feature's plan one click away. |
| Website, pricing | workbench.cognardo.com/pricing, signed in | Subscribing to PRO or MAX, and topping up AI credits, through Paddle checkout. |
| Website, account | workbench.cognardo.com/account, signed in | Plan management: your subscription, restoring a cancelled plan, and the way into Paddle's billing portal. |
| Paddle checkout and billing portal | From the website's pricing and account pages | Payment, payment method changes, GST details for businesses, and discount coupons where available. |
The extension: the Account tab#
The Account tab on the main extension page is your account's home inside the product: profile and security, your email, your AI-credit usage, and the buttons that lead to upgrading and topping up. Everything there shows or links; nothing there takes payment. The tab, control by control, is covered in account settings.
The extension: the pop-up#
The pop-up keeps the account at a glance: your plan sits in the header beside the ENABLED toggle, and the account menu below carries your signed-in email with Logout at the end of it. It is the status surface: which plan you are on, which account you are in, one click from anywhere.
Upgrade paths on gated features#
Every PRO and MAX feature in the extension carries its own path up: the marked control links to the website's pricing page, so the moment a plan boundary appears, the way past it is attached to it. The plans themselves, and what each unlocks, are covered in billing.
The website: pricing and account#
- Pricing:workbench.cognardo.com/pricing is where money moves: subscribing to a plan and topping up AI credits, each handing into Paddle checkout. Plan details sit on the page itself.
- Account:workbench.cognardo.com/account is where the subscription is managed: your current plan, restoring a cancelled subscription before the cycle ends, and the entry into Paddle's billing portal.
Both work for signed-in users, with the same account as the extension. The flows are covered in manage your plan and cancel your subscription.
Paddle: checkout and the billing portal#
Paddle is the payment processor behind both money surfaces: checkout for subscribing and top-ups, and the billing portal for what follows: changing the payment method at any time, entering GST details for businesses, and applying discount coupons where they are available. Cognardo Workbench never sees or stores your card; that side lives with Paddle end to end.
How the two sides connect#
Payment completes on the website, and the extension follows on its own: after a successful checkout, your plan and its entitlements update in the extension automatically, with no action needed. The update is normally quick, occasionally a couple of minutes. What to do on the rare occasion it does not reflect is covered, step by step, in billing.
