Settings
Settings are the switches of Cognardo Workbench: whether the floater rides along, what key sends a message, what a copy carries, whether cited links are watched, whether the cloud and the active profile run. They live in two places that mirror each other: the pop-up's PREFERENCES with the everyday four, one click from any page, and the Settings tab of the main extension page with the full set. This section covers every switch, with each behaviour staying canonical on its home page.
How settings work#
- Two doors, one system: The pop-up carries the four switches that change mid-work; the Settings tab carries everything. A toggle flipped in either place is flipped in both, instantly.
- Changes apply as you work: No save step, no reload. The next copy, the next insertion, the next response follows the new state.
- Switches here, behaviour at home: The profile toggle's behaviour lives with instruction profiles, citation tracking's with citation and hallucination analysis, and the cloud master toggle's with sign in to the extension and Cloud Sync & Data. Settings documents the switches.
- One set, both platforms: A toggle flipped anywhere governs chatgpt.com and claude.ai alike.
- Settings ride your account: With Enable Cloud Sync & Intelligence on, your settings follow your sign-in across devices. See Cloud Sync & Data.
- Two switches are PRO: Use custom copy settings and Auto track citations are PRO features; on the free plan each carries its upgrade path to pricing.
The pages in this section#
| Page | What it covers | Go here when you want to… |
|---|---|---|
| Settings interfaces | The two surfaces and their mirror: the pop-up's PREFERENCES with the everyday four, and the Settings tab with the full set. | Find where the switches live. |
| General settings | The behaviour switches: Enable Floater, permitted sites, the send-key swap to Cmd/Ctrl + Enter, Strict Submission Mode, and the settings homes of the cloud master toggle and the profile switch. | Change how the extension behaves as you type and work. |
| Cloud Sync & Data | Sync status badges, manual sync, resolving a conversation conflict, and how offline changes catch up. | Understand what the sync badges mean and fix a stuck sync. |
| Smart Suggestions | Turning Smart Suggestions on, where a suggestion appears, and dismissing or re-surfacing one. | Control the contextual tips and prompts the extension surfaces. |
| Copy settings | Use custom copy settings PRO: the switch, the format and attribution configuration, and where custom copies apply. | Shape what a copy carries. |
| Citation tracking | Auto track citations PRO: the background link watchman's switch, with the behaviour canonical on citation analysis. | Turn the background link checks on or off. |
Where to next#
The surfaces the settings govern are mapped in the interface. The send-key swap protects the shortcut flows in Prompts & Sequences and Scratchpads. The three behaviours switched from here live on their canonical pages: citation and hallucination analysis, use the active profile, and sign in to the extension, with the device story in Cloud Sync & Data.
