The Conversations Main Page

The conversations main page

The Conversations tab of the main extension page is the library of every conversation Cognardo Workbench has captured. Each conversation is a row with its metadata and sync state, with search above the list and bulk export and delete beside it. This page covers the list, the row actions, the sync states, and the Pins tab that sits next to it.

Prerequisites:

  • Captured conversations: Conversations record automatically while you are signed in. See chat capture.
  • Know the surfaces: This page assumes the pop-up and the main extension page from the interface.

Open the library#

  1. Click the pinned Cognardo Workbench icon to open the pop-up.
  2. Click the conversations icon, first in the navigation grid. The main extension page opens on the Conversations tab.

Conversations also sits first in the left navigation of the main extension page, so the library is one click away from anywhere in the workspace.

Each conversation row#

  • Title and metadata: The conversation title, its turn count, when it last updated, and the model it ran on.
  • Sync badge: SYNCED means the conversation is backed up to your account. PENDING means the upload has not finished yet.
  • Selection checkbox: Feeds the bulk actions.
  • Row actions: The management controls on the right, covered next.

Row actions#

  • Add to favorites: The star marks the conversation as a favorite.
  • Rename: The pencil opens the title for editing.
  • Export PRO: Opens the format menu: Text (.txt), Markdown (.md), JSON (.json), Word (.docx), PDF (.pdf), and CSV (.csv). The formats available depend on your plan; see pricing.
  • Repair sync: Appears only while a row is PENDING, and restarts the sync for that conversation.
  • Delete: Removes the conversation.

Search the library#

The Search conversations field filters the list as you type. Search matches titles, conversation content, and model, so a half-remembered phrase from an old chat is enough to find it.

Export or delete in bulk#

  1. Tick the checkbox on each conversation you want, or tick Select all.
  2. Click Export Selected PRO to download them, or Delete Selected to remove them.
    1. Both buttons stay inactive until at least one conversation is selected.

Open a conversation#

Click anywhere on a row outside its controls and the conversation opens on its own page, with the full exchange, its versions, and its management actions. Back returns you to the list at the same position. The page itself is covered in individual conversation.

The Pins tab#

Pins sits beside Conversations and gathers the prompts and responses you pin, each as its own item.

  • Pinning happens on the conversation: On the Collect cards in the sidebar, see chat capture, and with the Pin Turn control on a conversation's own page, see individual conversation. Pin Turn offers Prompt, Response, or Both, and choosing Both creates two separate pins.
  • Each pin names its source: A PROMPT or RESPONSE label, the conversation it came from, its turn and version, and its model.
  • Find pins fast: The Search pins by content or chat title field, plus the All types and All models filters.
  • The tab counts for you: A badge on Pins shows how many items you have. Before the first pin, the tab reads "No pinned items yet".
  • Pins are reusable: Insert a pin into any chat with the sidebar's Insert Prompt/Pin action or the // shortcut. See reuse prompts.

FAQ#

What does the PENDING badge mean?+

The conversation has not finished uploading to your account. It normally resolves on its own; Repair sync on the row restarts it. If conversations stay pending, see troubleshooting.

Can I export several conversations at once?+

Yes. Select them and click Export Selected, then choose a format. The formats match single-conversation export.

What is the difference between a pin and a saved prompt?+

A pin is a bookmarked turn from a conversation, kept with its source, turn, and version. A saved prompt is a library asset you author, with a title, target model, and tags. Both insert into any chat. See save prompts.

Do Claude conversations appear in the same library?+

Yes. One library holds every captured conversation, with the same rows, actions, and pinning on both platforms.
