Conversation Interfaces
Conversation interfaces
Conversations in Cognardo Workbench are reachable from every surface: the floater acts on the live chat, the sidebar records it, the pop-up tracks it, and the main extension page stores it. This page is the reference map of those access points: where each one sits and what it reaches. How the surfaces themselves work is covered in the interface.
Prerequisites:
- Signed in: Conversations record only while you are signed in. See sign in to the extension.
- Know the surfaces: This page assumes the four surfaces from the interface.
Every access point at a glance#
| Access point | Opens from | What you reach |
|---|---|---|
| Floater quick actions | The green dot at the edge of the page | One-click actions on the live conversation. |
| Sidebar, Collect tab | Open sidebar for more actions on the floater | The live conversation, recorded turn by turn. |
| Pop-up, CURRENT CHAT row | The pinned toolbar icon | The active conversation's title and controls. |
| Main extension page, Conversations tab | The pop-up navigation grid | Every saved conversation, with search and bulk actions. |
| Main extension page, Pins tab | Beside the Conversations tab | Everything you have pinned. |
The floater#
Three of the floater's quick actions act on the live conversation:
- Copy last response: Copies the latest response in the chat.
- Create summary and fork chat: Summarises the conversation and forks it into a fresh chat carrying the condensed context. The action shows its credit cost.
- Add last response to scratchpad: Sends the latest response to your active scratchpad. Capturing into scratchpads is covered in scratchpads.
The same actions repeat in the quick-action strip at the top of the sidebar.
The sidebar: the Collect tab#
Collect is the live conversation view. The chat you are in records into it turn by turn, with each turn as a USER or ASSISTANT card, and the conversation title in the header updating as the chat takes shape. The title row carries rename, favorite, and open controls, and each card carries its own set of actions.
Everything that happens here (recording, turn versioning, the card actions, and verification) is documented in chat capture.
The pop-up: the CURRENT CHAT row#
The CURRENT CHAT row in the pop-up names the conversation open in the current tab, with rename, favorite, and open controls beside it. The row follows you: switch chats and it updates. On a page that is not a supported chat site, the row reads Non-LLM Page instead.
The navigation grid at the bottom of the pop-up opens the main extension page; its first icon lands on the Conversations tab.
The main extension page: Conversations and Pins#
The Conversations tab is the saved library: every recorded conversation, with search, sync badges, per-row actions, and bulk export and delete. The tab is documented in the conversations main page.
Opening a conversation from the list opens its own view, documented in individual conversation.
Beside it sits the Pins tab, which gathers everything you pin from your conversations. Before anything is pinned, it reads "No pinned items yet". Pinning happens on the conversation cards; see chat capture.
FAQ#
Where do I find all my saved conversations?+
On the main extension page, in the Conversations tab. Open the pop-up from the pinned toolbar icon and use the navigation grid. See the conversations main page.
What is the difference between Collect and the Conversations tab?+
Collect shows the one conversation you are in right now, as it records. The Conversations tab is the library of every conversation you have recorded.
What is the Pins tab?+
The collection of items you have pinned from your conversations. It sits beside the Conversations tab on the main extension page and reads "No pinned items yet" until you pin something.
Can the pop-up and the sidebar be open at the same time?+
Yes. They are independent surfaces, and both reflect the same active conversation.
Do these access points differ on Claude.ai?+
No. Every access point on this page works identically on chatgpt.com and claude.ai, and the pop-up and sidebar name whichever site you are on.
