Rewrite and explain
Rewrite Tone, Explain, and Web Summary are one-shot transforms: each takes existing text — a response, a selection, or a whole web page — and returns a changed version in a separate panel, ready to copy in if it fits. This page covers all three.
Prerequisites:
- AI credits: Each of these actions costs 1 credit, shown before you run it.
Rewrite Tone#
- Open the sidebar's Enhance tab on a response.
- Choose Rewrite Tone and pick a tone: Professional, Friendly, Casual, Academic, Persuasive, Humorous, Concise, or Empathetic.
- Review the rewrite (1 credit).
Explain#
- Open the sidebar's Enhance tab on a response, or select text on any web page and use the floater's Explain action.
- Pick a grade level, from elementary up to expert.
- Review the simplified explanation (1 credit).
Web Summary#
- Open the page you want summarized.
- Choose Web Summary from the sidebar's Enhance tab or the floater.
- Review the summary (1 credit).
FAQ#
Does Rewrite Tone replace my response automatically?+
No. It is copy-only: review the rewrite in its panel, then copy it in yourself if you want to use it.
What tones can I choose for Rewrite Tone?+
Professional, Friendly, Casual, Academic, Persuasive, Humorous, Concise, and Empathetic.
Can I run Explain or Web Summary outside the chat platforms?+
Yes. Both work from the floater on ordinary web pages. See scratchpads on non-LLM pages.
Do these actions use AI credits?+
Yes, 1 credit each, shown on the button before running it.
Does Web Summary summarize the whole page or just a selection?+
The whole page's content by default. To work on a smaller piece, select it first and use Explain instead.
