Installation

Install the Extension

Cognardo Workbench installs from the Chrome Web Store. The install takes one confirmation dialog. When it finishes, the Welcome to Workbench page opens, and account setup begins there. This page covers each install step and what happens immediately after.

Prerequisites:

  • Google Chrome: Cognardo Workbench runs on Chrome only. Edge, Brave, Safari, and other browsers are not officially supported.
  • Your Chrome profile: Chrome installs extensions into the profile that is currently active. If you use more than one profile, switch to the one you want before installing.
  • No account needed yet: You do not need a Cognardo Workbench account to install. You create one after installing.

Install from the Chrome Web Store#

  • Open the Cognardo Workbench listing on the Chrome Web Store (Link: Chrome Web Store listing here).
  • Click Add to Chrome.
  • Review the confirmation dialog. Chrome opens a dialog headed Add ‘Cognardo Workbench’?
  • The dialog lists two permissions: Read and change your data on a number of websites and Read your browsing history.
  • To see the exact sites the extension can read, click Show details.
  • Click Add extension. This is the final confirmation.
  • Wait for the install to complete. Two things confirm it:
  • Chrome shows the notification that Cognardo Workbench has been added to Chrome.
  • A new tab opens automatically with the Welcome to Workbench page.

What happens after you install#

Three things mark a completed installation:

  • The Welcome to Workbench page opens: It offers two paths. Create My Account starts a new account, and Sign in is for existing accounts. The next step in this section is to create an account.
  • The toolbar icon is installed, not pinned: Until you pin it, the icon sits behind the puzzle-piece Extensions icon in the Chrome toolbar. See pin the extension.
  • Nothing is running yet: The floater, the sidebar, and conversation recording start after you sign in. See sign in to the extension.

FAQ#

Do I need a Cognardo Workbench account before installing?+

No. Install first. The Welcome to Workbench page then takes you into account creation.

Is the extension free to install?+

Yes. Installing costs nothing, and Cognardo Workbench has a free plan. For what each plan includes, see pricing.

The installation finished, but I do not see the extension. What now?+

Check the puzzle-piece Extensions icon in the Chrome toolbar. Unpinned extensions live there. If the extension is missing there too, see troubleshooting.
