First actions

This tutorial takes you through your first actions in Cognardo Workbench: watch a conversation record itself, save your first prompt, insert it back into the chat, and find it in your library. By the end, you have a recorded conversation and a reusable, synced prompt. Everything here works the same on chatgpt.com and claude.ai.

Prerequisites:

Watch your conversation record itself.#

Recording is automatic, so your first action is only to look.

  1. Start a new chat and send any message.
  2. Click the green floater dot at the edge of the page, then click Open sidebar for more actions.
  3. Open the Collect tab in the sidebar. Your conversation is already there:
    1. Your message appears as a USER card, and the reply as an ASSISTANT card.
    2. The conversation title in the header updates on its own as the chat takes shape.

Every conversation on chatgpt.com and claude.ai is captured this way, turn by turn, with no manual step. That is the foundation the rest of Cognardo Workbench builds on.

Save your first prompt.#

Now turn something you would type again into a saved asset.

  1. Open the Act tab in the sidebar.
  2. Click Save Prompt. The Add New Prompt form opens.
  3. Fill in the form:
    1. TITLE: Name the prompt something you will recognise later.
    2. CONTENT: Paste or type the prompt text. This is the text that will be inserted into the chat when you reuse it.
    3. Choose the target model: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, others, or all models.
    4. Add a tag. Pick an existing tag from the suggestions or type a new one.
  4. Click Save Prompt. A confirmation reads Prompt saved.

Insert it back into the chat.#

  1. In the Act tab, click Insert Prompt/Pin. Your prompt list opens, with the new prompt at the top.
  2. Click the orange plus icon on your prompt. Its tooltip reads Insert.
  3. The prompt text lands in the chat input as editable text. Nothing is sent automatically, so adjust it if you want, then send.

Find it in your library.#

Everything you save lives on the main extension page.

  1. Click the pinned Cognardo Workbench icon to open the pop-up, then open Prompts & Sequences from the navigation grid.
  2. Find your prompt in the list. The row shows its model, its tag, and how recently it was saved.
  3. Watch the badge on the row. It reads SYNCING while the prompt uploads, then SYNCED once it is safe in your account and available on every device you sign in to.

You are set up#

You now have the core loop: conversations record themselves, good prompts become assets, and assets come back in one click. Where to go deeper:

FAQ#

Do these first actions cost AI credits?+

No. Recording, saving prompts, and inserting them never use credits. Credit costs apply only to Enhance actions, such as the optional Optimize button on the save form.

Does inserting a prompt send it immediately?+

No. Insertion places the text in the chat input, still editable. You send it yourself.

My saved prompt is not appearing. What now?+

Check that you are signed in on this device and that Cloud Sync & Intelligence is on. If it still does not appear, see troubleshooting.
