Saved scratchpads

Everything the active scratchpad collects has to live somewhere when the work moves on. Saved scratchpads are that somewhere: every scratchpad not currently active, kept intact, searchable, and one action away from taking the active role again. This page explains what saved means, where saved scratchpads surface, and what can be done with one in view mode. The counterpart concept isthe active scratchpad.

Prerequisites:

What saved means#

  • Kept, not collecting: A saved scratchpad holds everything it collected, exactly as it stood. No saves land in it while it is inactive.
  • Switchable: Any saved scratchpad can be made active again, and doing so sends the current active one into the saved collection in its place.
  • On your account: With Enable Cloud Sync & Intelligence on, saved scratchpads follow your account across devices. Off, they stay on the current device. See Cloud Sync & Data.

Where saved scratchpads appear#

  • The sidebar's Scratchpad tab: Listed beneath the active scratchpad, with a search field over the list for finding one by name.
  • The main extension page: The Scratchpad tab holds the full library, and the editor beside it is where content is edited. See the scratchpads main page.

Make a saved scratchpad active#

  1. Open the sidebar and go to the Scratchpad tab.
  2. Find the scratchpad in the list. Search narrows it as you type.
  3. Use the control that marks it active. It moves to the top of the tab as the active scratchpad, and the one it replaced joins the saved list with its content intact.

From then on, every one-click save lands in it. See the floater and the sidebar.

View mode, not edit mode#

A saved scratchpad opens in view mode everywhere outside the editor: read it, mark it active, and manage its state, but never edit its content there. Content is edited in the editor on the main extension page. See the scratchpads main page.

FAQ#

Do saved scratchpads keep receiving saves?+

No. Only the active scratchpad collects. A saved scratchpad holds what it has until it is made active again.

How do I get a saved scratchpad back to active?+

From the sidebar's Scratchpad tab: find it in the list and mark it active. The current active scratchpad steps aside with its content intact.

Can I edit a saved scratchpad from the sidebar?+

No. The sidebar shows it in view mode. Open it in the editor on the main extension page to change its content. See the scratchpads main page.

How many scratchpads can I have?+

The count is plan-dependent: the free plan has a cap, PRO raises it, and MAX removes it. For what each plan includes, see pricing.

Do saved scratchpads work across both platforms?+

Yes. One collection serves chatgpt.com and claude.ai, and whichever scratchpad you activate is active on both.
